The magic of Silverstone as a driving venue was certainly not lost on our young warriors who came out and drove amazingly well in some wet and dry changing conditions. The new boy on the block was already a record setter as Aaron Thompson was just 14 some very few hours before the Sunday race day. We believe he is now the youngest ever race driver to hold an MSA licence and race in any junior category. This fact was picked up and confirmed by both Autosport and Motorsport News. It must be true!
We were expecting nine young drivers to take part in the racing but Michael Higgs must have been bitterly disappointed when his 'shared' car was damaged in the first senior race when Joe Ferguson was at the helm and was not able to be repaired for the rest of the event for either driver. He did get out to drive in free practice and qualifying and was looking very competent though."
