The biggest ever Fiesta ST race car grid ever seen at a race circuit since the marque was first introduced. The championship put out 42 cars and nearly approached the overall record set a couple of seasons ago. All classes provided entertainment and good racing and some downside race accidents; whilst regrettable we were fortunate that we did not see any injuries to drivers. Check- ups followed by bruises and sore shoulders.
The D class was up 100% with two cars out. This is now slowly growing and the interest is beginning to be very interesting. There are five cars now caged and four finished ready to race. By the first Brands Hatch we will see three/four out. Our A and B class cars are still well represented and it is encouraging to see the Ian Scruton -- Foundation Racing now starting to take off. This initiative provides a starting block for new drivers who are looking at 'a reasonably priced car'. Ian has fielded several enquiries. This will keep the A and B classes supplied with numbers and that means the furtherance of separate races."
